 The word technology comes from the Greek, which technologia, techne, and logia, meaning “study of practical applications of knowledge in a particular field” or “one way to finish tasks using technical processes, methods, or technologies of knowledge”.

 Broadly, the technology can be defined as a set of technical and human knowledge of how to combine resources to produce desired, solve problems, meet needs, satisfying desires, and includes technical methods, skills, processes, tools, and raw materials.

 Before the 20th century, the technology is intended to describe the study of art or craft. into the 20th century, the term technology is increasingly recognized and is associated with the start of the industrial revolution, particularly in the fields of science, business and engineering.

 A well-known sociologist, read well (1937), explains that the technology include the entire appliance, machinery, equipment, weapons, housing, clothing, communications, transportation produced and use.

1. Technology as an object, covering equipment, machinery, instruments, weapons, equipment, physical devices that support technical performance.
2. Technology as knowledge, which is a study to know and understand what and how the process behind technological innovation.
3. Technology as an activity, the activity carried out by a person and includes the skills, methods, procedures, or routines.
4. Technology as a process, a technology that began with the emergence of a need or problem and then topped by a solution (settlement).
5. Technology as sociotechnic system, the creation and use of objects involving humans and other objects in combination.

The technology basically aims to make people's lives better. however, we should be grateful and appreciate the technology that has been easier for us to make ends meet. However, with the increase in pollution and environmental damage, eventually started to develop green technologies. Rated green technologies can increase energy savings (natural resources) and reduce environmental pollution.

     Green Technologies (ecofriendly tecnology) or known as sustainable technologies are technologies that are friendly to the environment or have a positive impact on the environment.

      Green Technologies generally use the utilization of renewable energy sources (such as sunlight, wind, water, etc.) and convert it into energy that produces little or no waste and pollution. The presence of green technology is a solution in relation to the issues or environmental issues. Its presence is absolutely necessary because it affects the survival of human and environmental sustainability in the future.
